Child Care Legislative Intent | | A less serious consequence of a child care center violation |
Gold Quality Care Program | | Level of adherence which is sufficient to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of all children under care |
Child Care | | All owners, operators, employees, and volunteers working in a child care facility |
Child Care Facility | | Established for the purpose of entertaining children in a planned fitness environment in conjuction with food service and provides care for no more than 4 hours per day |
Child Care Personnel | | Any center or arrangement which provides child care for more than 5 children and which receives payment |
Drop-in Child Care | | Act of assessing child care personnel and volunteers which includes background checks and fingerprinting |
Evening Child Care | | Care provided on an occasional basis in a child care facility in a shopping mall or business where a child is in care for no more than a 4-hour period and the parent remains on the premises |
Family Day Care Home | | Child care provided in the evening hours between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am |
Indoor Recreational Facility | | The onsite person ultimately responsible for the overall operaiton of a child care facility |
Operator | | Care, protection, and supervision of a child for a period of less than 24 hours on a regular basis for payment |
Owner | | A more serious consequence of a child care center violation which involves a child being harmed |
Screening | | An occupied residence in which child care is provided for children (no more than 10) for payment |
Substantial Compliance | | Child care provided between the hours of 6pm on Friday and 6am on Monday |
Weekend Child Care | | To protect the health, safety, and well-being of children in Florida and promote their emotional and intellectual development |
1st Degree Misdemeanor | | The person who is licensed to operate the child care facility |
2nd Degree Felony | | National accreditation for child care centers |
