Renaissance Related to the time when Queen Victoria ruled England (1825--1900), Victorian clothes and architecture tended to be ornate (fancy) and eclectic (mixing many materials and styles).
Skyscraper European style of architecture (12th.--16th. c.) characterized by buttresses and pointed arches, e.g. The Cathedral of Notre Dame.)
Victorian A painting on a wall.
Row house A roof having two slopes on all sides, with the lower slope steeper than the upper one.
Romanesque An enclosed rectangular open space surrounded by a building.
Mansard Roof A large window or series of windows that projects from the outer wall of a building.
Mural A very tall modern building.
Grid A house connected to other houses in a row.
Gothic European style of architecture (11th--12th c.) characterized by rounded arches, vaults, and ornamentation.
Courtyard A network of horizontal and perpendicular lines.
A bay window A classical period in Europe or a classical style.
