God told the Samaritan woman in John 4:24, "God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth." Here are some other verses in the Bible to read about worshiping God. Ephesians 5:19; I Corinthians 16:1-2; Acts 2:46-47; II Timothy 4:2; and Philippians 4:6. Remember that God wants our heart. He wants us to obey Him and worship Him the way He tells us and not the way we want to. God is the spectator and not us.
