In Ephesians 6:10-18, Paul tells us to put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the devil.  We are to take the whole armor of God by fastening on our waist  truth, putting on the breastplate of righteousnes, and our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace, and take the shield of faith which we are to use to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. In other words, we stand against the devil by using God's truth (the Bible), being righteous (right with God), being prepared to tell the gospel to others, and a strong faith in God to help us.
