Deborah Sampson


Deborah Sampson grew up without a father Deborah was actually a woman.
Deborah and her brothers and sisters because she was such a "young man".
She became an indentured servant  brave and courageous.
Paul Revere asked Congress because he deserted his family.
She learned to read because were sent to live with friends and relatives.
Deborah became a teacher when she was only a child.
She wanted to join the Revolutionary army but because she studied and learned well.
In order to join the army  they didn't allow girls to serve.
She assumed the name  to give Sampson a pension after the war.
The soldiers thought she was beardless the boys in the family taught her.
In the army she was she dressed and acted like a man.
The doctor discovered Robert Shurtleff.
