Across
3.Turning or spinning on an axis. EX. Earth takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis. 1 rotation = 1 day.
4.The 1st line of latitude, it divides the earth into northern and southern hemispheres. It is 0 degrees latitude.
8.The first line of longitude, it runs through Greenwich, England. It measures 0 degrees longitude.
10.The first day in spring and fall when the Sun's direct rays are on the Tropic of Capricorn or the Tropic of Cancer. Spring = vernal equinox; Fall =autumnal .
11.Imaginary lines that go north to south. EX. Prime Meridian, International Date Line.
12.The scientific study of galaxies, stars, planets and other objects in space.
13.Line of latitude in the Southern Hemisphere.

1.The first day in winter and summer when the Sun's direct rays are on the Tropic of Capricorn(winter) or Tropic of Cancer(summer).
2.The line of longitude where each calendar day begins. When crossing it, you either gain or lose a day.

6.Going around or orbiting another object. EX. Earth takes 365 ¼ days to revolve around the Sun. 1 revolution = 1 year.
7.maginary lines on the Earth that run from west to east. EX. Equator, Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn.
9.Imaginary line through the center of the Earth on which it rotates.
