Across
4.(____________) are right alongside political science-majors in how angry they'll be when you tell them they are not real scientists. Basically, a (__________) is someone who specializes in specializing in a field that isn't really an actual science--psychology.
9.Imagine a police officer who use psychology. So just imagine Dr. House with a gun. Or actually, just imagine Dr. House on an episode of CSI:Miami. It’s like psychologists who work with lawyers and policeman and detectives. These people are always protecting crazy criminals from being sent to jail, or trying to understand criminals.
10.Sometimes when you feel emotionally distraught or confused about your emotions or habits you'll pay a person who's studied (_____________) a whole bunch of money, just to have him/her reassure you that what you're feeling is perfectly normal. But, on the off-chance that this person diagnoses you with a mental illness, you'll probably deny his/her assumption and say something about how his diploma is a "false piece of crap". Really, these guys always get bad treatment in movies, like Robin Williams in "Good Will Hunting" or that Indian guy in "Silver Linings Playbook". People who study (__________) should really be represented better in our society, I mean they deserve it. Ok, if you're still reading this convoluted hint, the word I was looking for was psychiatry, but let's spend some time just appreciating these people and the amazing work they've done. Go psychiatrists!
11.Linda is someone who studies (____________), a sub-field of psychology that is interested in the applied science of how your brain affects your behavior. People will do this in a clinic, and it’s a brain science related to psychology. Really, that’s all the hint you’ll need.
12.Think trees and nature and then put that word in front of psychologist. Surprised to all, these people (_________), aren’t really worried about nature, even though their names sound like they are. They aren’t a bunch of tree-licking hippies, but rather these people are more interested in finding out how people interact with their surroundings. But yeah, the hint’s the word “nature”. Just think nature and words that start with e and then use that word in front of psychologist. You gotta be pretty dumb to not get this one.
13.A (___________) is someone who studies development and human growth (if you know what I mean).
14.Tim has worked his entire life to become a (____________), a psychologist who studies the behavior, emotions, and mental processes of human beings. Yet despite all he knows about the human psyche, Tim still spends every evening, for the love of God, trying to figure out where his wife wants to go out for dinner.
Down
1.So when you’re managing a paper company in Scranton, PA and you bring someone to talk to your employees about business, you will probably hire a (__________). This type of psychologist is often abbreviated into I-O Psychology. (in your answer, omit the slash mark)
2.A (____________) is someone who finds how a person’s environment, culture, and habits might affect his or her HEALTH. I just really want to make sure you know that this psychologist studies a person’s HEALTH.
3.A (____________) studies how babies and animals think. So don’t leave your children near one because a (___________) might be inclined to do some creepy testing things.
5.A (__________) is someone who treats mental, emotional and behavioral disease. These are no jokes kids.
6.These are people who help students and adults when it comes to pedagogy and a school-setting. Many times, (_______________) are those who have a good understanding of epistemology and know how to make student-teacher interactions work well.
7.Lenny Lemons is a bit of an anarchist, see. He's always going about burning cars and beating up children on the street—doing Lenny Lemon things, really. Well, one day his teacher caught him before the police did and signed him up with a (______________), who specializes in understanding societies, and communities, and and how groups function. It didn’t really work out and Lenny got in real deep and got dead in a ditch, see. But the person who tried helping him was real good, though. He was real good.
8.There’s this show called ”True Jackson, VP" where these people hire some psychologist woman to come into the office and build teamwork and social interaction. Well, that woman was a (__________________). She specializes in assisting groups and individuals to better their social interactions with themselves and one another, almost like a councilor. A councilor, like a psychologist who councils. Anyway, these specialists assist in giving people advice on how to understand their strengths and interactions with others. (By the way, just google ”True Jackson, VP" and watch an episode. It got cancelled in 2008, but it should really have been picked up by MTV because it was a pretty good show if I do say so myself).
