Sharpening Your Saw

DVH

In a small village, two men had a woodcutting contest. One man worked non-stop, while the other took short breaks. In the end, the one who rested won because he spent time sharpening his saw. This story teaches us the value of renewal. Taking breaks gives us more energy and helps us work better. When we are rested and renewed, we can focus better on our jobs and do them well. The guide explains how people need to take care of their body, mind, heart, and spirit. This holistic approach helps us stay strong and do our best. Doing fun things like playing games or relaxing can help us feel happier. When we care for ourselves, we build resilience and are better able to handle life’s challenges. Life is not just about working hard to make someone else rich. A good job means more than just a paycheck—it should come with safety, balance, and respect. Employers should pay us fairly and make sure we have enough rest and a healthy work- life balance. Self-care is non-negotiable— something too important to skip.
