Basic Math Definitions

6th grade math definitions

Prime Numbers Fractions with different denominators.
Greatest Common Factor Can be divided evenly only by 1 or itself. And it must be a whole number greater than 1
Least Common Multiple Consists of an integer followed by a proper fraction.
Equivalent Fractions Have a larger top number than the bottom number.
Like Fractions Have the same value, even though they may look different.
Unlike Fractions The denominators in two or more fractions are the same.
Common Denominator Fractions which have the same denominator.
Improper Fractions The smallest (non-zero) number that is a multiple of two or more numbers.
Proper Fractions The least common multiple of the denominator.
Mix Number The highest number that divides exactly into two or more numbers.
Least Common Denominator Have a top number smaller than the bottom number.
