Glacial Ridge line, watershed, water parting or height of land, is the line that separates neighbouring drainage basins
Lake Basin Relating to or concerned with the relation of living organisms to one another and to their physical surrondings
Glacier An area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins or seas
Moraine A slowly moving mass or river of ice formed by the accumulation and compaction of snow on mountains or near the poles
Drainage divide A place where you keep water or capture it
Groundwater The lake colours indicate the amount of sediment or depth
Deposits Water held underground in the soil or in the pores and crevices in rock
Recharge A body of permeable rock that can contain or transmit groundwater
Seeps An aquitard is a zone within the earth that restricts the flow of groundwater from one aquifer to another
Aquifers The replenishment of an aquifer by the absorption of water
Resevoirs A mass of rocks and sediment carried down and deposited by a glacier, typically as ridges at its edges or extremity
Till A sediment consisting of particles of various sizes and deposited by melting glaciers or ice sheets
Aquitard Large amounts of something
Wetlands A large natural or artificial lake used as as source of water supply
Headwaters The depression occupied by a lake, the area from which drainage reaches a lake
Topography Lands consisting of marshes or swamps; Saturated land
Kettle A small arm of the sea, a lake, a river, a pipe or a hole through which water or gas can escape
Inlet and Outlet The arrangement of the the natural and artificial physical features of an area
Ecological A tributary stream of a river close to or forming part of its source
Well Flow or leak slowly through porous material
Habitat Water melted from a glacier
Watersheds The variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem
Biodiversity A place where things live
