Group 7 Biology Escape Room

Match the vocabulary from Mendel's laws of inheritance and genetics to their corresponding definitions.

Mendel's Law of Segregation This law states that in a heterozygote, one trait will conceal the presence of another trait for the same characteristic
Mendel's Law of Independent Assortment Genes located on the sex-chromosomes. These are usually found on the X chromosome, X-linked alleles are always expressed in males because males have only one X chromosome.
Mendel's Law of Dominance This law states that individuals possess two alleles and a parent passes only one allele to his/her offspring
Incomplete dominance This law states that the inheritance of one pair of factors ( genes ) is independent of the inheritance of the other pair.
Co-dominance When both alleles are dominant and both versions of the trait are seen in the phenotype.
Multiple allele traits When a dominant allele does not completely mask the effects of a recessive allele, and the organism's phenotype shows a combination of both alleles.
Sex-linked traits Genes that have more than 2 variations of the gene

Use the "Printable HTML" button to get a clean page, in either HTML or PDF, that you can use your browser's print button to print. This page won't have buttons or ads, just your puzzle. The PDF format allows the web site to know how large a printer page is, and the fonts are scaled to fill the page. The PDF takes awhile to generate. Don't panic!
