INJURIES AT WORK

Injury: any physical damage to the body caused by violence, accident or fracture, etc.

Cause: events that provide the generative force that is the origin of something. Most workplace injuries are caused by things easily avoided. Slips, trips, and falls are all major contributors to workplace injuries.

Example: Injury -- a worker tripped and broke his arm.

Cause -- objects in the pathways and spilled drinks on the floor.

Match Injuries with a Possible Cause. / Relacionar la lesión con su posible causa.

Fainted No protective helmet
sliced off her finger No face mask, inhaled fumes.
Injured her back Bottle inappropriately labelled
burned his forearm No protective gloves
cut himself split corrosive substance on arm
Fell and broke his leg Forklift not put away
Scraped his knee on equipment Floor not tidy, objects on the floor
Object hit him on the head Dull knife blade
Tripped, fell and bushed his hip lifted heavy box
Used the wrong substance, burned eyes and nasal cavity Ladder not secure
