Artichokes

The artichoke is a small green vegetable that came form the Mediterranean. It has many petals which open up to reveal a purple flower. The inside is fuzzy while the outside is smooth and bumppy. Most artichokes bloom in the spring.they have three main nutrients and consist of only 25 calories. There are many ways to prepare artichokes. Even kids enjoy eating them because they can eat them with their hands and fingers. There are not many parts to an artichoke but more than most vegetables. Artichokes are harvested by being chopped off the plant and put into a backpack called a canasta, then taken to the warehouse for inspection.
